Porto, Portugal: A Photo Diary

So, as many of you know, I spent the last week slowing down and enjoying the beauty of Porto, Portugal. I had decided it was time for a trip all on my own and I couldn't have been happier. The past week was an opportunity for me to really step back and appreciate all that we have in this beautiful life. It held moments honing in on the little things and practicing radical self-love. With the end of summer, we normally envision the idea of 'starting over' in the fall and beginning with a blank slate. For me, this trip was a realization that life is really beautiful at the moment and with that beauty, comes peace.

I'll be writing a few articles over the next few weeks with tips from the trip, some of the best places I explored and the importance of slow + solo travel but for now, I'll share in the way I know best, through photography. Special thanks to the lovely people at Casa do Conto, Rosa Et Al, Pensão Favorita, Spazo Zen, Wine Quay Bar and Taste Porto Food Tours for helping make the trip that more special.

It’s time we start SHOWING UP for ourselves. Enough is enough with letting fear and excuses be the leads in your story.
_
3 weeks into my “6 week sprint” and I’ll be honest in saying… I’m amazed with all I’ve been able to do. If you saw my IG story today, you’ll know what I’m talking about. But not that much has changed in my life… the theory behind it is simple. Put. in. the. work.
_
It’s easy to convince yourself why something won’t work or why we shouldn’t take a chance but imagine how powerful it would be if you actually did what you knew you needed to do.
_
3 of the biggest takeaways so far.
_ 🙋🏾‍♀️Look fear and hesitation in the face. When making a decision, ask yourself what’s the worst that can happen and the best that can happen if you do that thing you’ve been putting off for ages.
_ 🗓Create a feasible plan and stick to it. It’s easy to put something down on paper but we hold back when it’s time to execute. Slow and steady win the race but you need to be on a path to win.
_ 🙌🏾Think about the person you want to become and act accordingly. Even if you’re not there yet, mindset is everything. Want to be an entrepreneur? Figure out your branding and launch the product. Want to own a home? Go talk to the bank and figure out what steps you need to take. Looking switch careers? Update your LinkedIn profile with your skillset. Ready to run a 5k? Get in the habit of waking up every morning to train.
_
I know you’re made for greatness, you just need to start showing up. Let me know how you can start showing up for yourself this week! #siempregirando
What would happen if we started looking at fear face on? It’s an emotion most of us avoid because it means that we need to be conscious and vulnerable about what we view as weakness.
_
I never thought much about fear until the other day when someone told me that I was disguising fear as other emotions. That pushing fear to the side versus facing it head on won’t allow for me to move forward.
_
That conversation reminded me of how @heyamberrae talks about embracing our emotions with wonder over worry… learning how to use “hard” emotions to honestly learn about ourselves and grow authentically.
_
After a few days of self-reflection, I’ve decided to start being more vulnerable about what I’m afraid of. Things like failure, stress, living up to my fullest potential, intense responsibility… the list goes on. I’m choosing to start having more open conversations with y’all that lead to growth.
_
Most importantly, it’s time to stop living through a lens of fear and to continue showing up for myself so that I can live the life I know I’m capable of leading.
_
How honest are you about your fears? What would your life look like if you stopped letting it get in the way of what you know you deserve? I’d love to start this conversation with you. Let me know below and here’s to no longer letting fear hold the narratives of our lives. #siempregirando
What do these views have to do with non-negotiables? Let’s talk about it. •
If you’ve been here for a while... you know how I feel about having clarity on the things that are either a hard “yes” or a hard “no” in your life. When it’s clear each and every decision you make is that much easier. •
Non-negotiables for me? Being able to live a spacious life where each day I am able to take out time for myself and to re-center. Being able to have a professional life that supports my personal aspirations. It’s being able to be surrounded by people and situations that lead to growth.
•
Take a moment to think about what matters most to you. Financial stability? Flexibility? Being by the ocean? Having time to practice creativity?
•
If you haven’t already, my free vision to action workbook (link in bio) takes you through why all of this matters and how to create the plan to make sure that your life is filled with the things you want vs. what others are urging you to do.
•
You are in control of your narrative and now is your time to step into the life that you were made to live. #siempregirando
I am tired of how much we glorify “the hustle”
•
Let’s be clear… I believe in going after your dreams and working hard to get to where you want to be 100% but, I want to change the way we think about getting there. Time and time again, I see people wait until they hit rock bottom or they burn out to start making change. I want to see us start succeeding without having a breakdown or running away to find ourselves (I’ve done both and that still won’t solve your problems)
•
Success, however you want to define it, is possible but the key is making sure that you’re happy and healthy along the way. Some tips on reaching your goals without thinking that you need to lose sleep in the process
• 👩🏾‍💻Figure out how you can be working smarter, not harder by sitting down and mapping out what you really need to be doing for growth
-📋Create a plan and break it down into bite-size pieces so that you can tackle it one step at a time vs feeling overwhelmed
-🙅🏾‍♀️Learn how to say no and figure out what you need to let go of to be able to focus and move forward
-🌞Make space for things that bring you joy on a daily basis and value your personal growth just as much as your do your professional success
•
I want to see you win but I also want you to think of what life would look like if you made the time to slow down just a little along the way •
Where are you right now in your journey? Are you always going or do you feel like you have balance? Let me know below. #siempregirando
Today, I feel proud; proud to have finished week one of my six week sprint with my head held high. Not just because I’ve been consistently showing up for myself but because I’ve put in the work to get to a point in my life where I am comfortable and ready to challenge myself in this way.
_
My life hasn’t always looked the way it does now and the journey to get to this point has been far from easy. I’ve been in training for years, hurdling through unexpected hardships, struggles and lessons in disguise.
_
Last year, I was in a much different place than where I am now. I was sitting in sadness and wading through the unknown. I was growing and faithfully waiting for the person I knew I could be. I was receptive to each and every experience, trusting that it was leading me to something more.
_
This is the beginning of my story, just like this is the beginning of yours. We all have our struggles, our triumphs and the big dreams we’re looking to achieve. You might be in a place where you’re able to push yourself a little bit more. You may be in a season of slowness where you need to sit exactly where you’re at. No matter what chapter of life you’re in, embrace that. Welcome that and remember, this is only the start. #siempregirando

Conversations with self: Ah, so this is what life feels like when you follow through on your word, don’t make excuses and do what you know you need to! Alright, let’s keep it going Sienna.
_
Day 4/42. I’m only 4 days into my six week sprint but I’m already seeing major change. The progress has been amazing across the board and the most interesting part has been the conversations I hold with myself on the daily; how they lead with love and motivation instead of negative self talk. Affirmations instead of rejection.
_
In the past four days, I’ve been living out joy, excitement, self-awareness and getting ish done. That’s what this “sprint” is about. Challenging myself to just do a little bit more than what I normally would to see the impact it has. It’s about fostering new habits that stick. It’s about practicing self-discipline.
_
It’s about a different type of mindset. Saying yes to what you need to and no to what you don’t. Fully trusting yourself to choose what you know will lead to growth. Believing that you’re capable of all those lofty dreams you have.
_
So, what kind of conversations are you having with yourself? How are you pushing yourself just a little bit more today? Let me know! #siempregirando
The choices we make in life aren’t just choices, they’re conscious steps towards the person that we want to become.
_
Sometimes, when we’re starting down a new path or just coasting in our everyday lives, we don’t give our all. Unknowingly, we set ourselves up to do “okay” when with 20% more effort, we could be reaching our big goals with ease.
_
Stepping outside of our comfort zone always brings reward and I’ve decided to do just that for the next six weeks. Six weeks of choosing what I know will bring change. Six weeks of giving it my all. Six weeks of living up to the person I know I have the potential to be.
_
I wrote a brand new blog post on my six week sprint and how to set yourself up for success when implementing a new habit. Give it a read and let me know below what you think.
_
I challenge you to think of one thing you’d like to do and implement for six weeks; no excuses. It’s hard to ask ourselves these questions but when we start seeing change, it all pays off. #siempregirando #sixweeksprint
I went to Lisbon to escape; to search for solitude, clear my mind and find inspiration. I went for one thing and what I left with was so much more.
_
My time in Lisbon taught me about myself, my potential and what happens when I practice consistency. My time in Lisbon taught me about the power of following through. In 10 days, I’ve accomplished more than what I have in the previous two months. Most of the time, we’re all painstakingly aware of what we need to do to get where we want to be... yet, the hardest and most important step is putting in the work.
_
It’s that simple. Showing up for yourself and keeping your word is more powerful than anything else. It’s about deciding that it’s time to make a change and not letting excuses overpower action.
_
This message isn’t just about work and checking off to-do lists but it’s about putting in the work to move towards who you want to be today, tomorrow and for the rest of your life. Your narrative is in your hands. So, it’s your turn to decide. Who is it that you want to be? #siempregirando

May you never forget that you are capable of so much more than your wildest dreams.
_
So many of us wait for a new year as a chance to start over but my wish for you is that you start to realize that every day is a new beginning.
_
You’re made for greatness and it’s so much closer than you think. Believe in your future, in yourself and in all that is possible with the right intentions and hard work. Let this year be the year that everything changes. You’ve got this. #siempregirando
My wish for you is to take some time for you before the year ends. This time is all about slowing down, reflecting on the past year and envisioning the life you want to continue building.
_
In 2018, I learned patience, self-compassion, the importance of “failure” and how to be still. I found the importance of sometimes just BEING instead of always doing. I learned that the slow seasons can be more powerful than all the others.
_
I’ve grown more in the past 12 months than I could have ever imagined. Now, I’m here... taking in each and every moment before the new year rolls around.
_
Have are you spending these last days of the year? What has been your biggest lesson in 2018 and how are you accepting where you’re at right now? #siempregirando
