How To Set Your Month Up For Success

With a new month upon us and a new quarter in full swing, it is the perfect time to reevaluate and assess to see if you're on the right path to end the year off strong. At the start of each month, I personally take an afternoon, sometimes a whole day to think about what needs to get done and how to make it happen. 


Think About What You Want To Accomplish and Plan For It

The start of the month is the perfect time to step back and think about if your daily actions are bringing you closer to what your long-term goals are. At the start of each month, take an hour or so to brainstorm your big goals for the month and break it down into actionable items.

So, instead of writing, “I want to lose 5 pounds...” think of the steps you need to take to get there. A better goal would be, “I will do cardio for 30 minutes, 5 times a week” creating an actionable item that you can track. Again, as we know, big changes come from small habits.

When goal setting, break it down into different categories like health + wellness, personal, business and finances. 


Overlook Your Budget and Set Your Goals

Budgeting is something that I constantly struggle with but I find that starting the month by stepping back and looking at finances always starts me off on a good foot.

Write down the assumed income you’ll be receiving and then jot down all of the bills or costs that you’ll have this month in a list. Once you’ve got the balance figured out, you’ll know how much you have for wiggle room. Setting up your expenses at the beginning of the month will avoid having to cancel last minute because you ran out of cash. 

I always encourage that you put aside a percentage for savings and another for self-care. It’s worth it to invest in yourself and your wellbeing so if that means on splurging on your favorite yoga classes, monthly massage or that big conference coming up, don’t feel guilty about it… you deserve it.


Surround Yourself With Inspiration

This might seem trivial but it’s so important. The more that you are surrounded by things that inspire and encourage you, the better off you’ll be. I’m not just referring to your physical surroundings but also who you spend your time with, what you consume on social media, everything. After my experience in Javea this September, I was surrounded by so many amazing women who brought me to new levels and it made me reevaluate who I was spending time with on a regular basis and if their company was what I need during this time in my life.

Do a monthly cleanse and reevaluate who and what you have in your circles, making sure that it’s allowing you to live your best life.
